Cookie & region notice

Cookies, regions and what you see.

This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies used on this site, the choices available to you, and how the region you select changes the content we show.

Effective 16 September 2026

01

About this notice

The Marketing Room operates across several markets. This notice sits alongside our Privacy Policy and covers two things: the small data files this website stores on your device, and the way the region you choose shapes the pages, people and client work you see.

If anything here is unclear, or you would like to know exactly what is stored for your visit, contact us using the details at the end of this notice.

02

What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. It lets the site recognise your browser on a later page or visit. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels and tags, which work in comparable ways.

Cookies may be “session” cookies, which disappear when you close your browser, or “persistent” cookies, which remain for a set period. Some are set by us (first-party) and some by services we use (third-party).

Where cookie information can reasonably identify you, we treat it as personal information and handle it under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, as described in our Privacy Policy.

03

Cookies we use

We keep our use of cookies deliberately light. The categories below describe what may be set when you browse this site.

Strictly necessary

Keep the site secure and working: page routing, form submission, load balancing and fraud prevention.

Always on — the site cannot function without them.

Preference

Remember choices you make, such as the region you are viewing and interface settings, so pages stay consistent as you browse.

Optional. Blocking them means we cannot remember your region.

Analytics

Help us understand which pages and articles are useful, in aggregate, so we can improve content and navigation.

Optional. Used only in aggregate, never to build a profile of you.

Marketing

Measure the performance of campaigns and professional-network advertising, and avoid showing you the same message repeatedly.

Optional, and only used where we run a campaign.

We do not use cookies to collect sensitive information, and we do not sell information collected through cookies.

04

Third-party cookies and embedded content

Some pages include content or services provided by others. Those providers may set their own cookies, governed by their own policies. This can include:

  • professional networks such as LinkedIn, where we share or promote articles;
  • embedded video, maps or document viewers;
  • analytics and hosting providers that keep the site fast and available;
  • email and form delivery services used when you contact us or apply for a role.

We do not control third-party cookies. If you follow a link away from our site, the destination site’s own notice applies.

05

Managing your choices

Where consent is required for optional cookies, you can accept or decline them, and change your mind at any time. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off because the site would not work without them.

  • Decline optional cookies and continue browsing — core content stays available.
  • Clear existing cookies through your browser settings at any time.
  • Opt out of interest-based advertising from participating providers via Your Online Choices.
  • Ask us what is held about you, and request its deletion where we are able.
06

Browser and device controls

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, browse privately, and send a “do not track” signal. Look under Settings, then Privacy and security. Mobile devices also offer advertising-identifier controls in system settings.

Blocking all cookies may mean the site forgets your region, forms behave unexpectedly, or some embedded content does not load. There is no consistent industry standard for “do not track” signals, so we rely on the choices you make here and in your browser.

07

Regions and what you see

We are one business operating in several markets. Choosing a region tailors the client work, people and services shown to that market, so you see what is genuinely available where you are. Your selection is remembered using a preference cookie or local storage; you can change it at any time.

Australia

Our founding market. Client work, team profiles and pricing reflect Australian operations and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

New Zealand

Locally led delivery. Personal information handling also considers the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ).

Singapore

Regional hub for Asia. Handling also considers the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

United Kingdom and other markets

Where we work with clients in the UK, Europe or elsewhere, we apply the standards of the local regime alongside our Australian obligations.

Where a region is still building out, we say so rather than showing content from another market. Pricing, availability and named team members differ by region, and nothing on this site is an offer of services in a market where we do not operate.

08

Regional privacy laws

Our baseline is the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Where local law gives you stronger rights, we apply those to the information we handle in that market. Depending on where you are, that may include the right to withdraw consent, to object to certain processing, or to request access, correction or deletion.

Some of our providers store or process information outside your country. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect it consistently with the standards that apply to us. Read more in our Privacy Policy, or about Australian rights at the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

09

Changes and contact

We may update this notice as our site, providers or legal obligations change. The current version is always published here with a revised effective date.
